KONA Human Performance provides personalized performance consultation to anyone who wants to begin or modify an existing training program. You will be instructed on how to safely and successfully begin your fitness program. You will establish reasonable goals and objectives for yourself. This session will also cover the basic training principles and components of a fitness program, and the coach will provide you with recommendations about cardiovascular fitness, functional strength training, flexibility, and basic nutrition.

Training Plan Review
KONA Human Performance provides personalized training consultation for athletes who want to have their annual and/or seasonal training plans reviewed. This review will examine the athlete's goals and objectives to see if they are realistic and compatible with their training plan. In addition, the coach will review the training plan and assist the athlete with setting up a periodization schedule to optimize fitness progression as well ensuring adequate rest and recovery.

KONA Human Performance offers nutritional counseling to anyone requesting additional information about basic nutritional needs, pre- and post-meal planning, and planning to successfully achieve training and racing energy requirements. In addition, the coach will perform a body composition analysis and give recommendations to improve performance through diet modification and exercise.

KONA Human Performance offers a Topic Review service to anyone requesting more information on any aspect of endurance training and performance. These topics may be very general in nature (i.e. Nutrition) or very specific (i.e. Peripheral Adaptation to Exercise). Many coaches have the philosophy that a well informed, educated athlete has an advantage in training and racing. Understanding exercise science and the effects of training may serve as a motivational factor for the athlete to adhere to a structured training program and optimize their potential.

Personalized training services give the individual special one-on-one attention and are an effective way to supplement your training program. During this session, the coach will critique your performance, offer recommendations, and provide program design for future workouts. Individualized services may include: core strengthening, functional strength training, bicycling technique and training, swimming stroke and open water swimming technique analysis.
